Having full root-level access signifies that you'll be able to access and change any kind of file on a selected server, including all the system files, and to change system settings or install server-side software that may be required by certain scripts and even offline applications to work effectively. A server is accessed at the root level via a root user, who has full privileges to perform any of the abovementioned tasks. Your root user may also make various other users. For security reasons, you are advised to have one more account for day-to-day tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to perform a specific task on the website hosting server. The root-level access function gives you full control over your server from any existing location, as long as you know the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

Our VPS servers come with different levels of access, to give you the option to select the one you need, according to your level of experience and on what you will need the server for. When you get a VPS without any Control Panel, you'll have full root-level access and you'll control everything through a console, unless you install some third-party software tool. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel website hosting Control Panel also come with full root access, but most of the things that are related to your online content can be done via a graphical interface and not a console. You are able to set up various frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without any problems. If you obtain your virtual server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, however, the root access will be restricted. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the simplest to manage.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server no matter which plan you choose throughout the registration process, as long as the server is ordered with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or without web hosting Control Panel at all. In each of these three cases, you will be able to change any part of the software environment in any way you see fit, which makes our server plans suitable for resource-demanding apps with specific requirements that cannot be covered when you use a shared hosting account. The difference between these options is that when you use cPanel or DirectAdmin, you'll have a web-based graphical interface to control various server-side options and any web content that you create or upload, while if you order the server devoid of Control Panel, you will have to perform everything through a Secure Shell console or to install a Control Panel of your own liking, if it is compatible with the Operating System that you've selected during the sign up process. With the final Control Panel option which you're able to select on our order page - Hepsia, the root access will be limited.
