If you want to transfer a domain from one domain registrar to another, you’ll need a special transfer authorization code, which may be called by multiple names – an EPP key, an Auth-Info code, a domain password, and so on. All these names denote the same thing – a code that the domain name owner gets from the current domain name registrar and gives to the new one upon ordering. Without an authentic code, a domain transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the protection mechanisms against unsolicited transfers used with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. For greater security, the code contains numbers and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you would like to transfer one of your domain names, you need to provide the new company with the correct code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Web Hosting

You can get the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain that you have registered through us with just a couple of mouse clicks from the very same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to manage your web hosting account. Once you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find all your domain names neatly listed in alphabetical order. If a particular extension supports transfers between registrar companies with an EPP transfer code, you will see an EPP button to the right of the given domain name. If you click on that button, the code will be sent to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the domain name in question. If needed, you can edit the contact details, including the email address, without the need to leave this Control Panel section, in case the currently entered email isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain name that you wish to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer code amazingly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage both your domains and your account. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you will find an EPP sign on the right side of your domain names, provided that their extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to make sure that only the domain owner can see this information. If the current email address is not valid any longer, you can change it with a few mouse clicks without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the respective domain right away.
